How Many People Have You Slept With?
So a question almost everybody asks whether that be friends or a new relationship, yet do you truly want to know the answer: So, how many people have you slept with? It’s no secret that asking your partner how many, is a very slippery slope.
My partner, knew I really wasn’t a virgin when we met, and was scared to know how many people I’ve previously dated past, so doesn’t want to know. But because my own experience with the topic isn’t representative of most, allow me to share new research that is, Superdrug polled 1,000 of both Americans and Europeans to find out.
So, how many people have you slept with???
This research showed that women are most like to decrease the number of previous sexual partners where as men increase theirs. The ideal number that if you want to lie that your partner will be comfortable with is eight previous partners. In reality, most men and women fall below that number, which is crazy. On average in the uk, women say they’ve slept with seven people in their lifetime while men have slept with six.
So you could think that any figure beyond eight would be considered too many, but then again I am shocked as the average Women insist is too promiscuous is 15 sexual partners and men cite 14 partners. On the other end of the spectrum, both men and women found that two sexual partners was too conservative, and would also shy away. According to the research, the ideal time to pose the question is 1 to 4 months in. The average number of past sexual partners in America is seven, with Louisiana boasting the highest volume of sexual partners with 16. Utah hosts the lowest figure with three.
The survey also revealed that the more sexual partners you slept with, the likelier they were to have contracted an STI.
Now just because this research has established a final national average doesn’t mean these results should be taken personally. If you’ve slept with more or less, so be it. Comment below and let see how true the figures were.
