The Perfect Vagina
What began as a wander through the wacky world of genital plastic surgery became a passionate documentary about modern femininity,The Perfect Vagina. After My Penis And Everyone Else’s, it’s now time to look at women’s insecurities.
Women are undergoing surgery to create perfect genitalia amid a “shocking” lack of information on the potential risks of the procedure, a report says. Research published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology also questions the very notion of aesthetically pleasing genitals.
Operations to improve the appearance of the sex organs for both psychological and physical reasons are on the rise. But surgeons said the report overplayed the risks of an established procedure. Researchers from University College London reviewed all the existing studies on cosmetic labial surgery – which generally involves reducing the amount of tissue that protrudes from the lips which cover the vagina. They found there had been little work to document any longer-term side effects. In this documentary, a woman tries to understand what convinces young girls that their labias are abnormal, and what leads them to a surgery table to have them cut. It’s a reflexion about the way a “normal” vulva should look, about difference, maybe about the desire to keep a little girl’s vulva forever.
Labioplasty, as it is known, costs about £3,000 privately and is offered for a variety of reasons: some women complain that wearing tight clothes or riding a bike is uncomfortable, while others say they are embarrassed in front of a sexual partner.
The Perfect Vagina
This is a documentary in several parts, and all this parts are reunited in this one video. There is a black screen during a few moments between the episodes. You should just move the cursor to access next part if you feel it’s too long.
The movie may show vulvas sometimes, but never in a pornographig way. It’s rather professional and medical, or artistic.
